Shauna has been dancing since the age of 3 and comes highly qualified in all areas in which she teaches. She graduated from Randolph Academy (a three year program specializing in acting, singing and dancing) and has since acted in and choreographed for film companies such as Bravo! as well as independent films and dance shows.
She has been choreographing for the past 17 years, starting out in Saskatchewan and coming to Toronto. She has choreographed award-winning numbers for competitions in both Canada and the United States and has adjudicated competitions around the country. Shauna founded and created Innovative Rhythm sixteen years ago with the goal of creating an inspiring place for her students to train where everyone is welcome, and a friendly, inviting environment for their families.
Stephanie has been dancing since the age of three and has been teaching since the age of thirteen. She has won many awards and scholarships as a dancer and choreographer. She has choreographed musicals such as Godspell and Singing in the Rain.
Stephanie trained with the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) ballet syllabus and is a full registered member.
She hopes to pass on her passion and love of dance to her students of all ages.
Jeanette Hedley graduated from the University of Toronto as a Drama Specialist and from Sheridan College with a Diploma in Acting. She is an Associate Member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association and a licensed Zumba Fitness Instructor. She’s worked with young people literally all over the globe – North America, Europe, Africa and onboard cruise ships – but is happy to now call Toronto and IR Dance home.
Charlee Rutten has a BA Honours in Drama & History from the University of Waterloo and attended Ryerson University Theatre School for Performance Production. Charlee is an Aquatics and First Aid Instructor at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.
Gabriella De Bartolo has been dancing for 21 years in Toronto. Her passion for dance has allowed her to train and perform across North America and Europe. She is excited to start the Silks Program and looks forward to sharing and teaching her passion this season at Innovative Rhythm!
Danielle graduated from the Commercial Dance Program at George Brown College. She has cheer-leaded for the Toronto Blue Jays, performed at the International Indian Film Academy Awards, and is part of the A2D2 Dance Cirque Company, TDC Entertainment, and the Silver Starlets. She performs dance, aerial silks, and Lyra all across the country!
Alexia is a dancer, choreographer, yoga instructor and teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. Alexia has taught dance for several years at Centauri Arts Camp. Throughout the years, Alexia’s passion for dance has only increased! She has trained and performed in numerous styles, including Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Salsa, and Bollywood.
Jennifer Roy is an aerial artist originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba currently residing in Toronto, Ontario. She has an extensive background in artistic gymnastics and when she left that sport she discovered the circus world. Jennifer used to be a member of Momentum Aerial and Acrobatic Troupe which gave her the opportunity to perform throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States. In addition to circus Jennifer has completed her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba. In addition to performing Jennifer has a passion for teaching! Whether it is on the ground or in the air, she loves seeing her students grow and learn. Jennifer’s wish is that she can impact her students as her teachers have influenced her.
Valentina has been dancing for more than 15 years. Her training in Jazz, Acro, Tap and Ballet have given her the opportunity to choreograph and perform professionally at numerous special events in Toronto and the GTA. She finds it truly rewarding to share her passion for dance with her students and looks forward to every class she teaches. She is excited to contribute to the upcoming season at Innovative and looks forward to a great dance year.
Angela Graduated with honors from Ryerson University with a B.F.A. in Performance Dance. Her passion for dance led her to perform professionally in Canada and abroad internationally. Angela is also an arts educator leading workshops in schools all across the GTA. Angela is looking forward to teaching and sharing her passions with the IR Dance family.
Spenser began dancing at the age of two and trained as a competitive dancer in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, and acro. Spenser holds a BA Dance Degree from the University of Calgary, and following graduation she completed a pre-professional training program with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks- Canada's leading professional jazz dance company. Her dance career took her all over the world from Scottland to Namibia. In the Fall she will be attending Humber for Arts Administration.
